Our lives are filled with God’s grace. As disciples, we are called to serve others in response and gratitude to God’s everlasting love. Let’s put our faith into action with our WE CARE BAGS for CLWR Cross-Generational Shared Service Project. Together with the Abundant Life and St. Luke’s Zion congregations, we are collecting “Learning and Living Kits” which provide learning tools for less fortunate children overseas. Our goal this year is to fill 100 WE CARE BAGS!
Our WE CARE BAGS for CLWR Shared Service Project will take place from Sept. 15th to Oct. 20th. There are several ways you can participate:
- Fill a WE CARE BAG with the following items:
Living and Learning Kit
3 lined notebooks
10 unsharpened pencils with erasers
1 metric ruler (30 cm)
1 pencil sharpener and 1 eraser
1 pack of crayons (or pencil crayons)
1 small and simple toy (new and not requiring batteries)
1 bar of soap and 1 toothbrush (new and wrapped)
1 tube of toothpaste (expiration date no earlier than one year)
- Make a monetary donation towards the $5.00 per bag shipping costs. A freewill offering will be collected at our Back to Church BBQ on Sept. 15th. In addition, you can place your donation in an envelope marked “WE CARE BAGS for CLWR” in the offering plate until Oct. 20th.
- Help sort and bundle the WE CARE BAGS on Thursday, Oct. 24th from 6:30-8:30. There will be a sign up sheet on the bulletin board.
Beginning Sept. 15th, WE CARE BAGS will be available for you to take home to fill. If you do not pick up a bag, you can also bring items in a grocery bag or other reusable bag.
