One of the most important things that we can do to grow as disciples is to maintain a regular devotional practice. That means regularly spending time in prayer, reading scripture, and reflecting on where we see God in the world.
If you are not in the habit of praying or reading the bible regularly, you might not know where to start. Or, if you’ve been at it for a while, you might feel a need for something fresh. We hope that this collection of resources will give you some tools and encouragement to start or continue your process of faith formation.
The resources are divided into different groups:
-
-
- Daily Devotionals are short daily reflections based on a particular passage of scripture. The “God Pause” devotional follows an order of daily readings that are in use in many different churches and denominations around the world. The “Eternity For Today” devotional is available through a print or online subscription through the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada and is also available as an app.
- Bible Readings give some direction for reading through the bible. If you are new to the bible, the “how to read the bible” section explains how to find the readings. There are also several different reading plans to choose from. Some follow a theme, others work their way through the entire bible. We’ve also included some links to where you can find bibles as apps or online.
- Prayer Resources will help you to grow in your prayer life and give you some ideas for praying in different ways
